The success of our great state is rooted in our ongoing commitment to welcoming and integrating new, aspiring, and visiting immigrants into the fabric of Nevada.
compromiso continuo de acoger e integrar a inmigrantes, nuevos estadounidenses
y visitantes en el tejido de Nevada es parte del éxito de nuestro estado.
Welcome to the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans (ONA) website!
Immigrants and refugees are part of the fabric and story of Nevada. They have made countless contributions to our state’s progress and success. In fact, Nevada would not be Nevada without the 600,000 immigrants and refugees that call the Silver State home.
As an immigrant myself from the Philippines, I understand the inherent struggles that New Americans face when coming to the United States; I understand the importance of being able to connect to resources and information in a language one understands; I understand the need to have immigrant voices issues heard and addressed.
Governor Steve Sisolak understands that too.
In fact, Governor Sisolak pushed for the creation of the Office for New Americans (ONA) as one if his first legislative priorities after being sworn as Nevada’s governor. With the creation of ONA, the State of Nevada is committed to ensuring that Nevada immigrants and refugees thrive in our state not only economically but culturally and civically as well.
