Iris Jones, Director

Iris Ramos Jones is a first-generation immigrant, originally from Ecuador, with a strong background in hospital administration and real estate.

Making history as the first Ecuadorian to join a Governor’s cabinet in Nevada, Iris was appointed by Governor Joe Lombardo to serve as the Director of the Governor's Office for New Americans. In this role, she is committed to providing support and resources to the newest citizens of Nevada, helping them navigate their way towards success and integration into American society. Director Jones has been honored with the prestigious top "40 under 40" award, a testament to her exceptional skills and dedication in the real estate field.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Iris remains deeply committed to her community. Recognizing her passion for service, the Clark County Commission appointed her to serve as a board member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Citizen Review Board, where she advocates for fairness and accountability.

As a true believer in the American dream. Her journey and achievements demonstrate that with hard work, determination, and resilience, one can overcome challenges and create a fulfilling and prosperous life.

Vincent Nava, Senior Advisor

Vincent Nava serves as Senior Advisor and is the designated Diversity and Inclusion Liaison for the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans. As a proud son of immigrants, he is committed to advocating and advising the State on best practices and policies that provide further integration and inclusion to Nevada’s immigrant and refugee communities. Prior to his current role, he held various positions within state service. Most notably serving as Governor Sisolak’s Press Assistant and as Nevada State College’s (NSC) Program Coordinator for the Office of Community Engagement and Diversity Initiatives. Vincent obtained his Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
