Charina de Asis, Director

Charina de Asis currently serves as the Executive Director for the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans (ONA). As an immigrant herself from the Philippines, she ensures that the voices of immigrants and refugees in Nevada have a seat at the table within state government. Prior to her role as Director, she served as Senior Advisor for ONA, worked in various analyst positions for the State of Nevada’s Department of Veterans Services and Department of Public Safety, and has institutional knowledge on the intricacies and processes of state government. She has also worked internationally on humanitarian and refugee issues in Asia and Europe.  


Vincent Nava, Senior Advisor ONA

Vincent Nava, Senior Advisor

Vincent Nava serves as Senior Advisor and is the designated Diversity and Inclusion Liaison for the Nevada Governor’s Office for New Americans. As a proud son of immigrants, he is committed to advocating and advising the State on best practices and policies that provide further integration and inclusion to Nevada’s immigrant and refugee communities. Prior to his current role, he held various positions within state service. Most notably serving as Governor Sisolak’s Press Assistant and as Nevada State College’s (NSC) Program Coordinator for the Office of Community Engagement and Diversity Initiatives. Vincent obtained his Master of Public Administration and Bachelor of Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  


Augusta Massey, Health Care Policy Analyst ONA

Augusta Massey, Health Care Policy Analyst

Augusta Massey is a Health Care Policy Analyst with the Governor’s Office for New Americans (ONA) in collaboration with the CDC Foundation. Prior to joining ONA, Augusta was the Managing Partner of Massey & Associates Law Firm, PLLC, where she assisted clients with a plethora of legal matters and has been named one of the top 100 lawyers in Las Vegas for five consecutive years. She also served as a Judge Pro Tem in Small Claims Court and sits on the Nevada Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Recently, she was honored as the Liberty Bell award recipient by the Clark County Law Foundation and honored as an iconic Woman of Distinction by the National Association of Women Business Owners. Augusta is the immediate past president of the Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association, a published author, speaker, mentor, and volunteer. Augusta received her B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from The University of Memphis, her Master's in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University, with high honors, and her Juris Doctor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law.  


Liliana Davalos, Health Equity Project Manager ONA

Liliana Davalos, Health Equity Project Manager

Liliana Davalos is the Health Equity Project Manager at the Office for New Americans (ONA), in collaboration with the CDC Foundation. Liliana works collaboratively with refugee resettlement coordinators and other stakeholders to identify health providers that can provide services directly to newcomers. In her previous professional endeavors, she had the privilege of providing health education and outreach to communities throughout Nevada. Liliana has worked with nonprofit organizations, such as Immunize Nevada and Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. In addition to her professional role, she instructs a community health worker training course at the College of Southern Nevada. As a child of immigrants, Liliana understands the challenges of accessing healthcare and is grateful to be able to connect her community to resources, in both English and Spanish. Liliana received a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Grecia Perez-Rodriguez, Skilled Immigrant Integration Program Officer

Grecia Perez-Rodriguez joins the Governor's Office for New Americans (ONA) as the Program Officer for the Skilled Immigrant Integration Program (SIIP). She comes to ONA after five years of working for the Consulate of Mexico in Las Vegas in the Consular Protection Department, where she built a background in community engagement, case management, and immigrant empowerment. As a skilled immigrant, she understands the complexity of navigating the US's health, education, financial and legal systems. With her experience and knowledge, she is committed to helping and assisting others. Grecia is a skilled immigrant with a Law Degree from the Universidad del Valle de Mexico. Currently, she is an Emergency and Crisis Management graduate student at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas.


Zuly Terrazas, Administrative Assistant ONA

Zuly Terrazas, Administrative Assistant

Zuly Terrazas is the Administrative Assistant for the Governor’s Office for New Americans (ONA). She joined ONA in August 2021. Prior to joining ONA, Zuly worked as a Customer Care Specialist for a nationwide transportation company and was the Secretary for the Advertising Club at the University of Nevada, Reno where she also graduated from with a B.A. in Journalism.
