Nevada Initiative for Language Access (NILA)


Senate Bill 318 (SB318), signed into law during the 2021 Nevada Legislative Session, requires all state agencies to create a Language Access Plan (LAP) to improve access to government services, programs, and information for Nevadans with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).

    Complaints

    In compliance with the AB 266 “ONA receives and investigates complaints relating to language access against any state agency, board of county commissioners or governing body”


    When to file a complaint: You can file a complaint if you do not receive services from an agency because of the language you speak. Your comments on this Language Access Complaint Form will assist us in improving language access services in the state of Nevada. 

     

    How to file a complaint: To file a complaint, you need to complete this form and send it to onainfo@ona.nv.gov. You can also call us to 702.486.0800. 

    How your complaint is handled: Complaints are processed in the order they are received or based on their severity. Each complaint is reviewed and a copy sent to the respective agency seeking a solution. A representative from the State Agency will reach out to you with a detailed response on how the issue was solved. If you are not contacted within 10 business days from the day of the complaint, please feel free to reach out to ONA.
